Chelsea’s first return match after England’s London break will be a trip to newly promoted Brentford on Saturday 16 October.
Ahead of the match, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has already confirmed that a player will be missing, and the player is Thiago Silva, who has been called up for the Brazilian national team for their matches this month.

Thiago Silva will go and then play for Brazil, and then return to the day against Brentford. This is the life of international breaks in 2021. Like it or not, what can I do? If they call him, he must go. “
CHELSEA HAS THE BEST DEFENSE OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE
London club Chelsea have started the 2021/22 Premier League season well.
Chelsea lost to Manchester City two weekends ago. they would also bounce back on Saturday by beating Southampton 3-1.
The Blues also have the best joint defense in the Premier League so far this season and have scored the second most goals.
And, with Liverpool having drawn their last two games, Chelsea have now been able to overtake the Reds at the top of the Premier League and will remain there for at least the next 12 days as we are now on the international break.
The last game of the break for Brazil’s national teams takes place in the early hours of Friday 15 October, so it’s easy to see why Silva won’t play Brentford on 16.
ARSENAL TAKES SHAPE AFTER THE BREAK
Arsenal would have headed for the international break in September in simply terrible form.
The Gunners have lost their first three league games of the season, conceding nine goals and not scoring once.
However, as we prepare for the October break, Mikel Arteta and co. I’m in a much stronger position.
The North Londoners’ first game after the break saw them win 1-0 over Norwich. This was followed by a 1-0 win over Burnley and a 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon in the League Cup.
Arsenal then secured a dominant 3-1 win over rivals Tottenham in the league before being held down 0-0 by Brighton last weekend.
ARSENAL NEED TO IMPROVE INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY
This run means Arsenal are now 11th in the Premier League and only four points behind the top four currently.
However, despite a great recovery in form, Mikel Arteta sent a warning to his team.
The Spaniard stated that Arsenal need to improve individually and collectively and also prepare well because a ‘roller coaster’ is coming with the number of matches they will have to play:
“We will analyze what we have done. In the last month we have had four wins and one draw in all competitions, we have conceded a goal.
“We have to improve individually and collectively and prepare well because the roller coaster with the number of games is coming.
“I’m never happy with a point, but I don’t think we deserved anything more.
We got a point because we defended very well in the last 15 or 20 meters of the pitch, and otherwise I think it was a game that we need to improve and do better in many other areas.
