A year on from the day he was picked with the top pick in the MLB Draft, it certainly looks like Spencer Torkelson is feeling comfortable in pro ball.

Torkelson was on board every trip he made Thursday night, starting with a single on the left outside in the first inning and a center double in the fourth. After gaining walks in the fifth and seventh, the best prospect of the Tigers added another single to the left in the eighth.
Torkelson, who scored three points on the West Michigan route, continued a hot June month with his great performance. Having released a .235 / .379 / .397 line in 19 games in May, Torkelson now boasts a .400 / .561 / .700 line up to nine games in June. Taken with the first overall selection last year from the state of Arizona, Torkelson is one of two picks in the 2020 Draft on the West Michigan roster. Choice of second round in Detroit last year and prospect No. 5, catcher Dillon Dingler went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI serve behind Torkelson in the clean-up spot for the Whitecaps.
