The report says the U.S. Department of Defense focuses on shipping unnecessary equipment and supplies that are not destroyed or supplied to Afghan security forces, adding that obsolete equipment will be destroyed.

Additionally, the report states that the US Department of Defense has approved the deployment of hundreds of sea, air and land forces in the Afghanistan region to help protect US and NATO forces, including contractors, during the withdrawal.

The aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower will delay its return to the United States to remain in the region to increase security during the US withdrawal.

Last week, the alliance said member states should initiate an orderly withdrawal from Afghanistan by May 1, planning to complete it within months. The United States intends to complete the withdrawal by 11 September.
