MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the application of measures to influence the hostile actions of foreign states, the Kremlin said on Friday.
“Vladimir Putin signed a decree ‘On the application of measures of influence (contrast) on the hostile actions of foreign states'”, the statement said.
The Russian government is expected to determine a list of hostile foreign states against which measures of influence will be applied, the Kremlin said.
“The Russian government … to determine the list of hostile foreign states, against which the measures of influence (countermeasures), established by this decree, are applied,” he said.
The decree enters into force from the day of its official publication and is valid until the cancellation of the influence measures established by the decree.
Moscow will limit the number of employees that can be hired for diplomatic missions of foreign states that take hostile actions against Russia, the decree says.
Agreements reached by diplomatic missions of hostile countries with individuals, whose number exceeds that established by the Russian government, are subject to resolution, the decree also says.
The measures do not apply to employees of diplomatic missions and consulates representing the respective state, he says.
