The PUNCH reports that seven parties participated in the elections, but the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, was excluded from participation.
Meanwhile, the Plateau State chapter of Nigeria’s Youth Democratic Party urged Nigerian youth not to be afraid to run for elective positions during the 2023 general election.
YDPN state president Dazi Victor gave the job after the party integrated its electronic voting system into its digital platforms on Saturday.
He noted that YDPN was the first fully digitized political party platform in the country that was developed within eleven months of its existence.
Victor said his platform was a place “where Nigerians can register to be party members online, with an assigned party identification number and department-level digitally verifiable code for permanent party card issuance.” .
According to him, the electronic voting system has been integrated into the party’s digital platform to eliminate all forms of voting purchase and imposition of candidates during the primaries.
In a statement after adopting the platform, Victor said: “We believe in Nigerian youth and the ideology that anyone can become someone.
