Chris Ngige, former governor of the state of Anambra and minister of Labor and Employment, believes that the high unemployment rate poses a serious danger to the country.
Ngige said that if something drastic is not done to reduce the escalating situation, Nigeria will come to a point where it would be overwhelmed by unemployment numbers that would ultimately wipe out the country.
Ngige revealed this at the inaugural partnership economics summit organized by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs in Abuja.

According to Ngige: “We are in trouble as a country. We’re in trouble and anyone who tells you they don’t know we’re in trouble is lying to themselves and once you lie to yourself.
“We are facing a problem that is cyclical, one has generated the other. It is up to you and the elite to decide to save ourselves, save our children and save our country.
“If we continue with these symptoms; buy ammunition, bomb these people, bomb the kidnappers, bomb Boko Haram, you will waste resources.
“If you had prevented it, it would cost you less. We need to educate these people at the base.
