CBC News: The National in Canada shows that the province of New Brunswick is battling a growing wave of tragedy as officials ask people to get vaccinated and keep in touch. Among the six deaths from COVID-19 reported this weekend: a firefighter in his thirties.
COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations certainly continue to increase in New Brunswick. This province is implementing “circuit interruption measures”. These new restrictions will last a minimum of 14 days in risk regions. “Circuit breaker” includes limiting contacts to a single family. The important restrictions will take effect at 6pm on Friday for a minimum of 14 days.
The government also announced Tuesday that all civil servants in Parts I (civil service), II (education system), III (health system) and IV (crowned societies), staff in long-term care facilities and staff and volunteers in schools and licensed facilities for early learning and childcare must certainly be fully vaccinated.
The province also reports one COVID-19-related death and 90 new infections on Tuesday. The province currently has 782 active cases of COVID-19. There are 50 people in the hospital, 23 of them in intensive care.
