Zimbabwe women’s captain Mary-Anne Musonda thanks her team as they open their qualifying campaign for the ICC T20 Women’s Cricket World Cup in Africa with a win.
Having found his share under two wickets for just nine runs, Musonda led his team’s charge to a six-wicket victory over the Tanzanian women with an unbeaten 52.
“I am thrilled that you know, that you have achieved half a century. I think more than anything else. I was happy to bring the team home, “he told # 3mobRadio exclusively.
“I think we have been in a difficult situation in the first 10 overs. So I’m happy that we managed to reach the goal in 19 over ”, she continued.
“Yes, and I think it’s important individually and also for the team to do well. It just gives the rest of the team … the guys in the locker room the confidence you know, the next game they can show up for the team too and fight. And, well, put the team forward and everything else will fall into place. “
In the full interview, he talks about the game plan after the wickets are lost and the pressure on the scoreboard.
