Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, Art and Leisure, Tino Machakaire, has dismissed reports linking him to a $ 770.00 Rolls Royce, rumored to be en route to Zimbabwe.
On his personal Facebook account Machakaire claimed he owned it to his “voters to set some records”.
He went on to say, “I have the ability to purchase the car in question and more. In my entire life I have never applied for a government tender or wish to have one. My business covers the whole of Southern Africa. with regional contracts.
“Third, as I said before, no significant investigations have ever been conducted on social media. If there are any questions or queries regarding my source of income, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant offices. It is a matter of public domain that I have declared all my wealth to the government, so I have nothing to hide. “
The drama began after GvE from the UK posted a TikTok video of them taking the plane to Zimbabwe, adding that it was bought by “one of our good customers, who is a minister there”.
This had led people to believe that Machakaire was the aforementioned minister, given his wealth.
