A teenager in France was arrested after stabbing his father to death and then sharing images of the crime scene online, investigators said on Tuesday, June 8, the Flip Board reported.
The 17-year-old from Ploeren, a town of around 6,000 in northwestern Brittany, called the police on Saturday 5 June to say that “he had just stabbed his father to death in the family home,” prosecutor Francois Touron said. in a statement.
When the police arrived home, they found the body of the dead man with multiple knife wounds and arrested the son, who was under the influence of alcohol.
“Yep, the teenager shared a video of the crime scene on social media,” Touron said.
Police quickly removed the video and a psychological support unit was set up to help the recipients and their parents, with any trauma resulting from watching the gruesome footage.
According to investigators, the teenager, after drinking at a party, went to the house where his father had been living alone for weeks after his wife and their two children moved.
He went in, took two knives from the kitchen, woke his father in the bedroom and stabbed him, the prosecutor said.
The boy told police he wanted to put an end to his father’s violent drinking behavior, which he says has caused the family a lot of suffering.
Last month, the boy’s mother filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband and the authorities opened a criminal investigation. He then left the family home with the couple’s two children.
An investigating magistrate on Monday accused the young man of voluntary murder and publication of images relating to a crime of personal injury.
