Eight states – all but one of them in the Northeast – have administered the complete vaccine against more than half of their population against Covid-19, according to data published Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention US.
They are: Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Vermont leads the country with almost 60% of its population having complete immunization.
Overall, nearly 141 million people – 42.5% of the U.S. population – follow a full range of immunizations, about 172 million – almost 52% of the population. residents – have received at least one Covid-19 prescription drug.
Nearly 305 million full-blown Covid-19 vaccines have been reported to be delivered, about 82% of the 372 million vaccines delivered, CDC data show. That’s about 829,000 more doses since Tuesday, for seven days of about 1.1 million doses per day.
