Project financing was simultaneously closed after being arranged by MSF Real Estate Capital. The complicated financing assignment included the placement of a $83.5 million senior construction loan provided by Centennial Bank, NA, a $42 million mezzanine construction loan provided by a New York-based private equity firm and project equity, which was a combination of Pizzuti equity alongside a variety of institutional and private investors. Alex Cameron is launching his own “Pay it Forward” movement across the US and his first stop was downtown Manhattan.
Alex, whose father is national recording artist and violinist Doug Cameron, is a childprodigy violinist from Naples, FL. He had been invited to perform with The Honors Orchestra in Carnegie Hall this summer. When Alex arrived in Manhattan, he was stunned to see so many homeless people on the streets.
He quickly came up with the “Pay it Forward” idea and with his dad’s help, he sprang into action. Inspired by Drake's video for his song “God's Plan”, Alex decided to share his talent on the streets of New York, a practice known as “busking”.

Play Labs, a Summer Accelerator at MIT, Announces 2018 Class of Playful Startups and Demo Day

Play Labs, a summer accelerator hosted at the MIT Game Lab, has announced its second batch of startups that have been admitted to the program. The current batch runs from June-August, and the Demo Day will be on August 14, 2018 at 6:00 pm EDT at MIT in classroom E51-115.
The Demo Day will be open to investors, members of the MIT community, and the general public. In addition to the physical event, Play Labs Demo Day will be streamed live on the web for those not in the Boston area.

Travelers Protective Association Holds 128th National Convention in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Travelers Protective Association (TPA), a fraternal benefit society, recently held its 128th national convention at Black Bear Inn & Suites in Gatlinburg, Tenn. More than 120 delegates representing 16 divisions located throughout the country attended the four-day conference.
An auction and reception raised more than $18,000 for the Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired. More than $2,600 was also raised for the Homer T. Wilson Fund, which provides emergency financial aid and is designated for indigent members, widows, widowers and orphans.
The Association’s national election was held, and Wayne Wentworth from Michigan was elected as president and L. Bailey Bledsoe from North Carolina was elected as vice president.
